Mrs. Gildersleeve is a new addition to Trinity this year.  She was a Called teacher at Holy Ghost Lutheran School in Niagara Falls, New York as the 5th Grade  teacher for the past 12 years when she received a Call to come to Trinity as the Fourth Grade teacher.  She gladly accepted the Call and fell in love with the school when she visited this past Easter.   Mrs. Gildersleeve has 23 years of teaching experience with 21 years spent in the Lutheran Schools and two years in Public instruction.  She holds a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Middle School, from Indiana University and a Master of Education in Special Education from Niagara University.

Mrs. Gildersleeve believes that it is important to start out the school year with having the students reflect on some specific learning goals and areas of growth they wish to achieve.  Another important classroom strategy she feels is vital for students is to help the students think as a small community working together to achieve success within the classroom setting.  She also feels the most important part of a child’s development is in their spiritual growth.  Helping the students know that they are each loved by the Lord and that God truly cares for them personally  is number one on her list.

She and her husband have four grown children and six grandchildren.  Presently, a great deal of her time has been spent helping her daughter Meg plan a wedding.  Her other hobbies include reading, kayaking, studying the Bible, and hiking.  Mrs. Gildersleeve has a heart to serve the Lord and prays for her students and their families each day.

1 John 4: 7-8

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
