Do you know what will happen to your home, real estate, investments, life insurance, and retirement accounts when the Lord calls you home to heaven? As good stewards of all these blessings, we can create a Gift Plan that cares for our family, our congregation, and other ministries we love. A Gift Plan is comprised of legal agreements and documents that direct the transfer of these assets in way that matches your desire to be a good steward of all of God’s gifts.
To assist you in transferring your assets when the Lord calls you home, or to update your existing plan, we have partnered with the LCMS Foundation on a program called “Transfer the Blessings.” They have been assisting Lutherans with Gift Plans for 68 years. Gary Vought, Gift Planning Counselor with the LCMS Foundation will be providing a presentation called “A Lifetime Plan for Giving.” At this presentation Gary will discuss:
- The importance of having a will or living trust in place.
- The benefits of creating a Gift Plan for you, your spouse, and your heirs.
- The importance of choosing the best assets to leave for family and the best assets for ministry.
- How a Gift Plan can reduce the tax burden on some estates and allow you to do more with your gifts.
- How, through a Charitable Remainder Trust, you can bless your family and leave a substantial gift to ministry.
