FOCUS: Prayer is a conversation with God, beginning with His Good News and followed by our response. John first identified Jesus as “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29) and then the disciples asked where He was staying. Although first called to be a prophet, Isaiah thought his warning had been in vain. But God raised his sight to see in Israel a light for the whole world. And when the faithful people in Corinth
seemed plagued with problems, Paul reminded them that they lacked no spiritual gift as they awaited our Lord’s return. Today is a day to hear the Gospel and respond not in our own strength, but out of confidence in what God has already said to us, through prophets and apostles, in print and, of course, in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord
