Mrs. Swanson is the Trinity Lutheran Childcare Director. She joined the Trinity team in December 2018. She believes every child is a precious gift from God. She oversees the center to provide a safe and Christ centered environment. Each child learns about the love of Christ through songs, bible stories, prayer and from the kindness of their teachers.
Penny grew up in Dodgeville, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. After graduating, she married her husband Tim and moved to Rockford, IL. It was there that their three children were born. Shortly after their youngest child was born, Tim was called to be a pastor and they moved to St. Louis where Tim attended Concordia Seminary. Following seminary, Tim received a call to an LCMS church in Rib Mountain. This move inspired a career change for Penny. After years in the veterinary field, she began her career in childcare at Trinity as a part-time assistant teacher.
After a short time at Trinity, Penny took the position of assistant director at a local childcare facility where she was later promoted to director. Penny is certified in CPR and First Aid, SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome, Child Abuse and Neglect and continues to attend seminars in early childhood to broaden and expand her knowledge in child development. In her free time, she enjoys music by playing the flute and singing with her church choir, watching movies, reading and spending time with her family.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
